Why KCRealtime Exists
KCRealtime was created out of a simple frustration: finding local information in Kansas City often meant searching multiple websites, apps, and services just to answer a single question.
Whether it was figuring out which venue was hosting a concert, finding the correct ticket seller, checking traffic conditions, locating nearby movie theaters, or discovering what events were happening around town, information was scattered across dozens of websites.
Something as simple as finding a movie often required checking multiple theater chains individually. If you were away from home, finding the closest theater showing a specific movie became even more difficult.
Helping People Find Resources
While working with individuals facing difficult circumstances, it became clear that many people relied almost entirely on word of mouth to locate shelters, food pantries, assistance programs, and other community resources.
Information existed, but it was often scattered, difficult to find, or buried within government and nonprofit websites.
KCRealtime aims to make those resources easier to discover when they are needed most.
Supporting Families
Families often know a loved one has been arrested but struggle to determine where they are being held.
Because the Kansas City metropolitan area spans multiple counties and jurisdictions, locating inmates, understanding visitation policies, and learning how to send commissary can require navigating several different systems.
KCRealtime seeks to simplify that process by helping families locate information more quickly.
Building Stronger Relationships
Information isn't only about roads, weather, and events.
Healthy communities are built on healthy relationships.
KCRealtime includes resources that help people identify energy givers versus energy takers, strengthen communication, recognize unhealthy patterns, and build stronger personal relationships.
Weather & Traffic Without The Noise
Most destinations across the Kansas City metro can be reached within 30 minutes.
However, construction, accidents, storms, and congestion can quickly change travel plans.
Too often, getting useful information means navigating lengthy weather broadcasts, excessive advertising, or multiple traffic sites.
KCRealtime was designed to provide the information you need quickly, allowing you to spend less time searching and more time living.

Kansas City is one community made up of many cities, counties, neighborhoods, and people. KCRealtime exists to help connect them.
